Greenville Rotary Club is very proud to offer three annual Youth Leadership scholarships through the Greenville Area Community Foundation.
The Paul Warnshuis Spirit of Rotary Award
Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must be a Greenville high school graduate in good standing, accepted and enrolled as an undergraduate student in the upcoming academic year at an accredited college or university, or professional certification program.
- Greenville Rotary Club reserves the right to consider students outside of Greenville High School if deemed appropriate.
Selection Criteria
- Preference will be given to members of the Greenville Interact Club or students who have demonstrated strong leadership and dedication to community service.
- The applicant must show evidence of being in leadership roles.
- The applicant must show evidence of a strong work ethic and community service activity.
- The applicant must submit an essay regarding Rotary's "Four-Way Test," which Rotarians ask themselves upon embarking on any service project. How would asking these questions of yourself make a different in your life? Is it the TRUTH? Is it FAIR to all concerned? Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
Award Amount
The scholarship will be awarded in the Spring during Honors Week with the amount to be determined each year based on the Greenville Area Community Foundation (GACF) spending policy. Donors may contribute to the Fund at any time as a pass-through to supplement the scholarship awarded in any year.
Duration of the Award
The award is for one year payable the first semester and upon receipt of the appropriate paperwork. The GACF staff will work closely with the recipient if circumstances prohibit him/her from receiving the scholarship immediately.
The Greenville High School Spirit of Service Award

The Fran Rivard Rotary Award
Eligibility Criteria
- The applicant must be a Greenville high school graduate in good standing, and;
- Must be attending a community college upon graduation
Selection Criteria
- The applicant must demonstrate the ability to succeed academically at a higher educational level
- The applicant must be a well-rounded student
- Although evidence of need will be considered, it will not be a condition of the scholarship
- Preference given to a student who will be attending Montcalm Community College (MCC).
If there are no qualifying applicants, then no scholarship will be awarded in any given year.
Award Amount
Scholarships will be determined each year based on the Greenville Area Community Foundation (GACF) spending policy and will consist of not less than than $500 payable over two semesters ($250 each semester). The scholarship will be paid to the college on a semester basis providing the student maintains a "C" average.
Duration of the Award
The award is for one year payable over two semesters.
